Rupa Wong, MD is a wife, mom to 3 kids, entrepreneur, and the Managing Partner of Honolulu Eye Clinic, a 4 doctor practice, for the past 16 years. In addition to building a successful practice on Oahu (she's been featured as a Best Doctor since 2010 and was even featured on the cover of Honolulu magazine). She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii.
Six years ago, Dr. Wong had the original idea for Pinnacle and now serves as the Chief Product Officer.
Dr. Wong completed her undergraduate education at Duke University, after earning the prestigious B.N. Duke Leadership merit based scholarship. She then went on to medical school at Cornell University and residency at NYU-Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Wong completed her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology & adult strabismus at Harvard’s Boston Children’s Hospital. She was a full-time faculty member of Boston Children’s and Harvard Medical School the following year before moving to Hawaii.
Dr. Wong serves on the Foundation Advisory Board for the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmologists & Strabismus, as well as the Recruitment Task Force and is Vice-Chair of the Digital Education Committee. She is on the Communications Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Wong is also on the Board of Directors for Make A Wish Hawaii and Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.
Dr. Wong is active on Instagram, her blog and YouTube channel where she discusses practice management, harmonizing work and life, as well as the gaps in business knowledge that medical school does not address.
