Dr. Rupa Wong is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist, adult strabismus surgeon, and Managing Partner of Honolulu Eye Clinic, where she’s cared for thousands of patients over the past 15+ years.

An Ivy League-trained physician and mom of three, Dr. Wong completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University, medical school at Cornell, residency at NYU-Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (where she served as Chief Resident), and fellowship at Harvard’s Boston Children’s Hospital. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Dr. Wong is passionate about empowering families with clear, evidence-based information about vision and eye health. As the host of In Focus: Vision, Clarity, and Eye Health for the Whole Family, she shares weekly conversations that make complex topics—from screen time to LASIK—accessible and actionable.

She is a national spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Vice-Chair of the AAPOS Digital Media Committee, and a leader in advancing education and equity within the field. Her expertise has been featured in outlets like Elle, Parents, and The Wall Street Journal Magazine.
