Meet the Host

Sameena Rahman, MD

 Dr. Sameena Rahman is a board-certified OB/GYN, sex-med gynecologist, menopause specialist and a clinical assistant professor of OB/GYN at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine.  She is the founder of the GYN & Sexual Medicine Collective, a concierge practice affiliated with Ms. Medicine that emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based and trauma-informed care. 

Dr. Rahman hosts the podcast Gyno Girl Presents: Sex, Drugs & Hormones and will release her first book, Brown Girls Disease? A Guide to Sexual Health and Empowerment through a South Asian Lens in 2026.

With the prestigious designation of ISSWSH Fellow (IF) from the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, Dr. Rahman is recognized as a leader in advancing innovative approaches to sexual pain and dysfunction. She serves on the ISSWSH Board of Directors, chairs its Scientific Committee, and contributes as faculty for professional courses. She is also a Menopause Society Certified Physician, serves on the Educational Committee of The Menopause Society and is Director of Gynecology for Ms. Medicine. In addition, she is on the faculty of HERMedicine, a nonprofit dedicated to educating clinicians in women’s health. 

Through her podcast Gyno Girl Presents: Sex, Drugs & Hormonesnamed after her popular Instagram handle @GynoGirl—Dr. Rahman is redefining conversations around women’s health. The show explores topics such as postpartum recovery, menopause, sexual wellness, and pelvic health with depth, humor, and humanity. Her mission: to educate, empower, and help women embrace self-love while navigating every stage of life. 

A sought-after voice in the field, Dr. Rahman has participated in and hosted numerous speaking engagements and panels focused on perimenopause, menopause, and women’s empowerment. Her recent appearances include Let’s Talk MenopauseMenopaloozaM FactorMidlife MenopauseBIÂNEast Bank Club, and the upcoming docuseries BALANCE: A Perimenopause Journey, premiering in January 2026.
