About the VHL Alliance
The VHL Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and health outcomes of individuals and families affected by von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, a rare genetic condition that can cause benign or malignant tumors to develop in multiple organs throughout a person's lifetime.
Through patient education, advocacy, community support, and medical research, the VHL Alliance connects patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals with resources and specialized treatment options. The organization promotes coordinated, multidisciplinary care through VHL Clinical Care Centers and supports research initiatives aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of VHL.
By bringing together patients, families, researchers, and medical professionals, the VHL Alliance works to accelerate scientific progress, expand access to quality care, and improve outcomes for the global VHL community.
About the 17th International VHL Medical Symposium
The 17th International VHL Medical Symposium is a three-day, in-person scientific conference taking place November 6–8, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, hosted by the VHL Alliance and Mass General Brigham to advance research, treatment, and care for von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease.
Designed for physicians, researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals involved in VHL disease management, the symposium brings together international experts to explore emerging scientific discoveries, innovative therapeutic approaches, and multidisciplinary strategies for improving patient outcomes.
Through expert-led presentations, scientific discussions, collaborative workshops, and research presentations, participants examine VHL tumor biology, renal cell carcinoma, genetic research, tumor microenvironments, immunology, targeted therapies, and clinical surveillance. The program also highlights advances in clinical research, patient perspectives, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration across specialties.
By connecting leading researchers, healthcare professionals, and patient advocates, this educational experience supports the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical practice, advances multidisciplinary care, and promotes continued progress in the management and treatment of VHL disease.
How Pinnacle Supported the VHL Alliance Through Joint Providership
Learn at Pinnacle partnered with the VHL Alliance to provide continuing medical education (CME) accreditation for the 17th International VHL Medical Symposium, a scientific conference focused on advancing research, treatment, and care for von Hippel-Lindau disease.
Through its Joint Accreditation model, Learn at Pinnacle supported the accreditation process by reviewing educational content, learning objectives, faculty disclosures, and planning documentation to ensure alignment with continuing education standards. This included coordinating compliance requirements, evaluating relevant financial relationships, and supporting the documentation necessary for accreditation.
Learn at Pinnacle also facilitated learner evaluations, CME credit claiming, and certificate issuance, allowing the VHL Alliance to offer accredited education to eligible healthcare professionals while remaining focused on advancing scientific collaboration, clinical knowledge, and patient care.
