About the Integrative Grief Counseling Certificate

The Embody Lab's Integrative Grief Counseling Certificate is a 12.5-hour live online training designed to equip healthcare and mental health professionals with a comprehensive, neuroscience-informed approach to grief counseling.

Led by Dr. Kate Truitt, Dr. Albert Wong, and Dr. Scott Lyons, this program explores the complex relationship between grief, the nervous system, emotional regulation, attachment, and the mind-body connection. Participants gain practical tools to recognize diverse grief responses, distinguish typical grief from conditions requiring further clinical assessment, and integrate somatic and relational approaches into their practice.

Through evidence-based frameworks, clinical demonstrations, and experiential exercises, learners develop skills in somatic tracking, grounding, co-regulation, therapeutic dialogue, and attachment-informed care. The training also addresses complex and traumatic loss, meaning-making, and strategies for supporting clients through the grieving process.

By bridging neuroscience, somatic practices, and traditional grief counseling approaches, this certificate program empowers professionals to provide more responsive, compassionate, and individualized care to those navigating loss.

About Healing Trauma Through the Body

The Embody Lab's Healing Trauma Through the Body is a 6-hour live online workshop series led by Dr. Peter A. Levine, exploring the role of the body and nervous system in trauma healing.

Through four focused workshops, participants examine the physiological and emotional dimensions of grief, attachment trauma, spirituality, and complex trauma. The program explores how traumatic experiences can influence nervous system regulation, relational patterns, emotional responses, and an individual's sense of safety and connection.

Using somatic principles and experiential learning, participants develop practical strategies for recognizing trauma-related responses and supporting regulation through techniques such as tracking bodily sensations, titration, pacing, and resourcing. Special emphasis is placed on approaching trauma safely, strengthening resilience, and supporting healing without requiring clients to relive traumatic experiences.

Designed for mental health professionals and other helping practitioners, this training bridges foundational trauma-informed knowledge with body-oriented approaches to support more responsive, individualized, and trauma-sensitive care.

How Pinnacle Supported The Embody Labs Through Joint Providership

Learn at Pinnacle partnered with The Embody Lab to provide continuing education accreditation for its professional training programs in somatic therapy, trauma healing, and grief counseling.

Through its Joint Accreditation model, Learn at Pinnacle supported the accreditation process by reviewing educational planning materials, learning objectives, faculty disclosures, and course content to ensure alignment with continuing education standards. This included managing compliance requirements, reviewing potential conflicts of interest, and coordinating the documentation necessary for accreditation.

Learn at Pinnacle also facilitated learner evaluations, CE credit claiming, and certificate issuance, allowing The Embody Lab to offer accredited education to eligible healthcare and mental health professionals while remaining focused on delivering high-quality, clinically relevant training.
