Southwest Cares

About Southwest Cares

Southwest Cares was created from a simple but powerful belief: no one should be left behind by the healthcare system. Founded by physician leader Dr. Chrisette Dharma, Southwest Cares exists to close gaps in access by bringing high-quality, holistic wellness services to underserved communities across the Dallas metroplex.

Rooted in compassion, equity, and innovation, the organization approaches health as more than the absence of disease. Southwest Cares supports physical, mental, emotional, and socioeconomic well-being through community-centered programs that honor the whole person. By thoughtfully integrating emerging technologies alongside human connection, the organization works to expand what is possible for populations who have historically been overlooked.

Southwest Cares is deeply aligned with the values of women in medicine who believe care should be preventative, inclusive, and sustainable. Led by a diverse board and leadership team of physicians, educators, executives, and advocates, the organization creates space for clinician leaders to use their expertise in service of social good. Through this work, Southwest Cares empowers both communities and the women physicians who serve them to lead with purpose, restore dignity, and help shape a more equitable future for healthcare.

About Spring into Action: The Art & Science of Letting Go

Spring Into Action: The Art and Science of Letting Go is an accredited educational experience designed to support healthcare professionals in reconnecting with purpose while strengthening the way they care for themselves and their patients. This activity creates a supportive, judgment-free space where clinicians can be heard, reflected, and validated—an essential foundation for sustainable practice.

Blending evidence-informed insights with human-centered dialogue, the course explores practical strategies for releasing stress, navigating emotional load, and preventing burnout before it takes hold. Participants gain tools they can apply immediately to improve patient relationships, enhance communication, and foster more meaningful clinical encounters.

What sets this activity apart is its emphasis on presence, self-awareness, and connection—helping clinicians cultivate resilience without sacrificing empathy. By focusing on both the art and science of letting go, this experience empowers healthcare professionals to care more effectively for others while honoring their own well-being.
