About Queer CME
QueerCME is dedicated to transforming healthcare for queer and gender-diverse communities. Founded by Dr. Crystal Beal, a queer, nonbinary, and femme physician, QueerCME empowers medical professionals to deliver truly affirming, inclusive, and culturally humble care.
Driven by their own experiences with healthcare discrimination and a lifelong commitment to justice in medicine, Dr. Crystal has built QueerCME to challenge the traditional, cis- and heteronormative structures of medical education. Their mission is to ensure that all patients - regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation—receive care that is safe, respectful, and rooted in dignity.
At QueerCME, learning comes from lived experience as well as evidence-informed practice. Through thoughtful education and advocacy, Dr. Crystal and their team equip healthcare providers with the tools, confidence, and compassion to meet the unique needs of queer and trans patients. Every program is designed to inspire reflection, confront bias, and foster a healthcare system that is equitable for all.

About Dismantling Barriers for Autistic, ADHD (VAST), and Neurodivergent Clients in Gender Affirming Care Course
Dismantling Barriers for Autistic, ADHD (VAST), and Neurodivergent Clients in Gender Affirming Care is a thoughtful, practice-focused educational activity designed to help healthcare and mental health professionals better support neurodivergent transgender and nonbinary individuals seeking gender-affirming care. Led by Renée H. Reopell, LCSW, this activity invites clinicians to examine systemic barriers, expand understanding of neurodivergence, and strengthen affirming, accessible care practices.
Grounded in lived experience, emerging research, and practical clinical strategies, the course explores how common healthcare systems and assumptions may unintentionally create obstacles for Autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent clients. Participants are guided through actionable ways to improve communication, reduce barriers to access, and create more supportive care environments.
What makes this activity especially impactful is its strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming lens—encouraging clinicians to move beyond deficit-based models and toward care that recognizes and respects diverse ways of experiencing identity, communication, and embodiment. Learners leave with practical tools to reflect on their own practice and implement meaningful changes that support safer, more inclusive gender-affirming care.
About Queering the Pause: Peri & Menopause for All Bodies Course
Queering the Pause: Peri & Menopause for All Bodies is a clinician-focused educational activity designed to help healthcare professionals provide affirming, individualized menopause care for transgender, nonbinary, queer, and gender-diverse (TGD) patients. Grounded in emerging evidence and inclusive care principles, this activity equips learners to navigate the intersection of menopause, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and personalized treatment planning with greater confidence and clinical nuance.
Through practical guidance and reflective clinical questions, participants explore how organ inventory, hormone use, gender affirmation goals, and lived experiences shape peri- and menopause care across diverse bodies and identities. Learners gain actionable strategies for integrating menopause therapies with gender-affirming hormones, implementing inclusive documentation practices, and creating more welcoming clinical environments.
What makes this activity especially impactful is its emphasis on thoughtful clinical reasoning, health equity, and affirming communication in an area where training and research remain limited. By centering practical application and individualized care, the course empowers healthcare professionals to better support patients navigating peri- and menopause across the gender spectrum.
