Dr. Ruth Williams is an esteemed thought leader and advocate in ophthalmology. She is a glaucoma consultant and partner at Wheaton Eye Clinic, an independent ophthalmology practice of nearly 50 physicians, 6 full-service locations, and an ambulatory surgical center.

As CEO for nearly a decade, she led the group through an accelerated growth phase that positioned the practice as one of the largest and most respected ophthalmology organizations in the country. President of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2012, chair of the AMA ophthalmology delegation for nearly a decade, and now Vice-Chair of Glaucoma Research Foundation, Dr. Williams is recognized as an authoritative, innovative, and ethical voice in medicine. A vibrant speaker, she has given invited and named lectures nationally and globally.

Dr. Williams is Chief Medical Editor of EyeNet Magazine, writing a monthly column on a wide range of issues relevant to physicians.
