Dr. Roshni Kumar is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and the Chief Medical Officer of the Meadows Institute. She also serves as clinical adjunct faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. Previously, she was the inaugural medical director of pediatric mental health for Dell Children’s Medical Center and Dell Medical School, where she helped establish a comprehensive continuum of pediatric mental health care in Central Texas, including hospital-based services and programs supporting primary care pediatricians and school-based mental health initiatives.
In her current role, Dr. Kumar oversees the development and implementation of clinically focused policies and practices at the Institute, emphasizing evidence-based, innovative approaches for children, youth, and families. She is passionate about fostering collaborative relationships across healthcare systems, reducing mental health stigma, increasing access to care, and ensuring that mental and physical health are treated with equal priority for all patients.
Dr. Kumar earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, completed her general psychiatry residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Lurie Children’s Hospital/Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
