Neurologist, Author, Operations Expert

Dr. Kimberly Johnson-Hatchett, a Kansas City, Mo native, is currently the Chief Medical Officer at the local VA hospital in Kansas City while continuing to practice neurology in both outpatient clinics/procedures and inpatient consults. She is board certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology and is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at Kansas University School of Medicine.

She is also an author of the book Retrospective Calling, which is about her not so straight path to medicine and the lessons she learned along the way. She graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and prior to this worked in sales, logistics and business management for various corporations including United Technologies, Merck Pharmaceuticals and General Motors and has a background in Finance and Banking with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

In her current role she marries her background in business with the responsibility of overseeing a large part of the medical operations of her medical center.

In her time away from the hospital she enjoys spending time and family adventures with her husband and two daughters and relaxing with their dog Rock. She also has a passion for advocating for health equity, health education and improved life quality through various social media outlets.

Her superpowers are listening to understand and patience.
