Jasmine Johnson, MD

Dr. Jasmine Johnson is a wife, mother of two, and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her medical school training at Indiana University School of Medicine. She then completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology followed by fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.

In 2010, Dr. Johnson created her blog The Mrs. The Mommy. The M.D. after having her son, Nathan, during her senior year of college and feeling as though there was no internet space for parents in professional school. Her blog chronicled her journey through medical training as a wife and mother for almost 10 years. Dr. Johnson continues to create content that serves to inspire young professionals to pursue their dreams - with or without kids.

Dr. Johnson has clinical expertise in managing high risk pregnancy for both maternal and fetal conditions. Dr. Johnson’s research interests include developing innovation to promote health equity and using scientific rigor to demonstrate the downstream effects of racism on pregnancy outcomes. In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Johnson serves on a number of local and national committees focused on ending health disparities and diversity equity and inclusion efforts. Through her work, Dr. Johnson strives to ensure all patients have the best possible care, and to be a fierce evidence-based advocate for the historically minoritized populations of her community and nationally.

In her free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys running, traveling, and spending quality time at home with her husband, their two children, Nate (16) and Isabelle (11), and their two dogs.
