About FemInEM

FemInEM stands as a beacon of empowerment and advocacy for women in emergency medicine. Founded in 2015, this pioneering organization has dedicated itself to creating meaningful change within the medical field by providing a supportive platform where women can discuss challenges, discover opportunities, and advance their careers in emergency medicine.

What began as a vision to address gender equity has blossomed into a transformative force within the medical community. FemInEM has consistently championed systemic change, inspiring the adoption of essential workplace policies including lactation support and comprehensive maternity leave programs across numerous Emergency Medicine departments. Their advocacy extends beyond professional development to improving patient care, with a particular focus on advancing equitable treatment for female patients in emergency departments.

Through thoughtful collaboration and strategic partnerships, FemInEM has fostered connections between women at all career stages—from residents and fellows to seasoned faculty members. The organization's commitment to amplifying diverse voices and breaking down barriers has created ripple effects throughout the healthcare landscape, benefiting not only women in medicine but the entire medical community.

In 2025, FemInEM evolved into the FemInEM Foundation, reinforcing their unwavering dedication to advancing gender equity in healthcare. This transition represents not just organizational growth, but a deepened commitment to creating lasting, systemic change that will benefit future generations of healthcare providers.

Today, FemInEM continues to cultivate an inclusive environment where all clinicians can thrive, regardless of gender, while driving meaningful progress toward a more equitable future in emergency medicine and healthcare as a whole.

What sets FemInEM's educational offerings apart is their focus on real-world emergency department scenarios, combining clinical excellence with health equity principles. The courses address situations that healthcare providers encounter regularly but may not have received comprehensive training on during traditional medical education.

The "Champions of Change" program uniquely cultivates future healthcare leaders, training medical students to drive systemic improvements within their institutions and communities. This leadership component ensures that educational impact extends far beyond individual learners.

How Pinnacle Supported FemInEM Through Joint Providership

Pinnacle partnered with FemInEM to transform their specialized reproductive healthcare education into fully accredited CME activities, enabling healthcare professionals to earn continuing education credits while accessing critical clinical training.

Through our joint providership model, Pinnacle managed all compliance requirements and documentation processes that would have otherwise required FemInEM to pursue independent accreditation. We conducted comprehensive content reviews to ensure freedom from commercial bias, while handling all disclosure forms and conflict of interest assessments for faculty and speakers.

Our team guided FemInEM through the complete accreditation framework, managing official paperwork with accrediting bodies and ensuring their 10+ course curriculum met all necessary standards for CME eligibility. We handled post-activity requirements including evaluation data collection, certificate issuance to participants, and submission of required reports to accrediting organizations.

This partnership allowed FemInEM to focus entirely on developing high-quality, clinically relevant content while Pinnacle ensured seamless compliance with accreditation standards. The result: accessible, accredited education that advances both clinical competency and health equity in emergency medicine, without the administrative burden of independent accreditation.
