Karen Leitner MD | Group Coaching for Women Physicians

About Karen Leitner MD

Karen Leitner, MD, is a physician coach who leads a group coaching program for women physicians focused on reducing overwhelm and creating sustainable, fulfilling lives in medicine. Her work helps women doctors navigate the emotional and mental load of medicine while building lives that feel aligned, supported, and sustainable.

She understands firsthand how heavy the demands of medicine can feel—and how often women physicians turn that weight inward, assuming the struggle means they’re doing something wrong. As a former primary care physician, Karen tried everything she was told should help: therapy, fitness programs, creative outlets. What she eventually discovered was transformative—the problem wasn’t her effort or resilience, but the impossible expectations placed on her.

Everything changed when Karen found coaching. The tools she learned helped her feel grounded, confident, and back in control of her life. Inspired by that shift, she became a certified coach and launched a group coaching practice for women physicians seeking the same clarity and relief.

Since 2020, Karen has coached hundreds of women doctors to set boundaries without guilt, quiet self-blame, and reconnect with themselves beyond their professional roles. Her work is evidence-based, practical, and deeply compassionate—designed specifically for women who are already carrying more than enough.

In addition to her coaching work, Karen donates a portion of her income to the Lorna Breen Foundation, extending her commitment to physician well-being beyond her practice.

At the core of Karen’s mission is a simple but powerful belief: women in medicine don’t need to work harder to feel better—they need the right tools and a safe place to begin.

About How to Feel Better for Women Physicians

How to Feel Better for Women Physicians is an 8-week, CME-accredited group coaching program led by Karen Leitner, MD, designed specifically for women physicians. This virtual program is tailored for those who are holding it all together but feel stretched to their breaking point. Led by certified coach and former physician Karen, it provides evidence-based, practical coaching tools to help women set boundaries, manage overwhelm, and reconnect with the parts of life that matter most—without needing to change jobs or completely reinvent themselves.

What makes this program unique is its blend of CME-accredited education, live coaching, and a supportive community of women physicians who truly understand the challenges of balancing medicine, family, and personal well-being. Nearly 500 women have already experienced the transformation of moving from exhaustion and guilt to confidence and clarity.

Participants leave with tools that lighten the load of daily life, restore energy, and make space for joy—whether that means finishing charts on time, protecting family moments, or simply breathing a little easier.

At its core, this program is about giving women physicians their lives back. In an inclusive and empowering environment, every participant is supported not just as a doctor, but as a whole person who deserves rest, fulfillment, and the chance to thrive.

About The Feel Better Retreat

The Feel Better Retreat is an intimate, immersive experience designed for women physicians who are outwardly successful but inwardly depleted. Created for those who are tired of powering through and ready to actually feel better, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to step away from the noise of medicine and reconnect with yourself—physically, emotionally, and mentally. It serves as an in-person extension of Dr. Karen Leitner’s group coaching work with women physicians, providing a deeper, hands-on experience to complement ongoing coaching support.

Led by physician-coach Dr. Karen Leitner, the retreat blends evidence-based education, guided reflection, restorative practices, and meaningful connection with other women physicians who truly get it. In a carefully curated environment, participants are supported in slowing down, releasing chronic stress, and learning practical tools to regulate their nervous systems, set healthier boundaries, and restore a sense of ease—without needing to quit medicine or overhaul their lives.

What makes the Feel Better Retreat unique is its depth and intention. This is not a surface-level wellness getaway. It’s a thoughtfully designed space where physicians can exhale, be honest, and experience real shifts alongside a community of peers who understand the weight of responsibility, perfectionism, and burnout.

Women leave the retreat feeling clearer, lighter, and more grounded—better equipped to return to their lives with renewed energy, perspective, and self-trust. At its core, the Feel Better Retreat is about reclaiming your well-being and remembering that you matter not just as a physician, but as a whole human being who deserves rest, presence, and joy.

How Pinnacle Supported Karen Leitner MD Through Joint Providership

Learn at Pinnacle partnered with Karen Leitner MD to bring her programs to learners with full CME credit, guiding the entire accreditation process from start to finish. Using our joint providership model, we ensured the content met all accrediting body requirements, including ACCME standards for physicians, while overseeing compliance, disclosure management, and commercial support standards.

Our team handled every administrative and regulatory detail—reviewing content for bias, managing conflict-of-interest forms, creating the Activity Detail Page, submitting accreditation paperwork, generating certificates, and reporting outcomes to accrediting bodies. We also provided post-activity evaluation analysis to support continuous improvement.

By managing the full compliance framework, Learn at Pinnacle allowed Karen Leitner MD to focus entirely on delivering impactful, evidence-based education to women physicians, while learners received the CE/CME credit they earned. This partnership model is faster, more flexible, and significantly less resource-intensive than pursuing accreditation independently, making it an ideal solution for innovative programs seeking high-quality, accredited learning experiences.
